Welcome Traveler, let me introduce myself
Truth be told there isn't alot to share, and what is of interest will most likely be documented sporadically in my youtube videos.
But to cover the basics, Ezri is my online handle. Her name originated form a World of Warcraft Forsaken cleric I played during Cataclysm way back in 2011. In 2020 she returned to herald my varioys Phantasy Star Online 2 adventures. Her name is a union of two of my favourite fictional characters; Ezri Dax & Robert Muldoon.
I was born in the 90's, every day I have to resist the trap of believing that was when pop culture peaked. That lovely picture on the left is me at the time of this sites founding. I was honourable discgharged from Military service in 2025. Injuries can be quite the life changing inconvenience but inspead of moping arround I've decided to make the best of the situation. I purchased myself a narrowboat & took to documenting it's restoration. Along with this I make ocasional videos on various enthuasist interests, modek kits, Retro hardware, video games & anime.
My Military career had me serving as a medic, from working in the Nightingale hospitals during the Covid 19 pandemic to responding to road traffic accidents, self harm incidents, various MSK injuries and plenly of mass casuality extercizes. After seven and a half years of service my discharge came from an diagnosis of Osteopenia, low bone density which all but gurantee's I'll develop Osteoporosis later in life. Good old brittle bones. Why am I so forthcoming with that information? It's half of this sites purpose, transparacy- especially in regard to the realities of service life.
I grew up with an idolisation of the Military, that might set me apart of other Neocity users yet with my career ambitions cut short I want help guide others towards, or away from service depending on temperament & personal trauma. As for the risks associated with publishing personal information? We’ve lived in a cyberpunk dystopia since America’s Patriot act, the various “online safety acts” which have arose 25 years later have further embolden international mass surveillance under the guise of protection, Social Media has all but digitally cloned us and thanks to AI Microsoft has ended encryption so all our personal files can be fed into co-pilot. My personal information is out there for the highest bidder, so is yours.
With my healthy paranoia of the government out of the way. The rest of my interests are extraordinarily nerdy. The two main hyper obsessions I’ve settled on is 特撮- Tokusatsu. Which is descriptor for media that heavily relies on VFX. In the west we associate it almost exclusively with practical effects. Godzilla, Gamera, Kamen Rider, Metal Heroes, Super Sentai, Ultraman etc.
The second obsession is V-Tubers. Hololive EN, IND & JP, Phase connect and a gathering of Indies. Doki, Dooby, Midas, Mint, Saba, Shondo. Many others have sadly graduated but I have my Oshi’s.
Past that I'm a gamer. I have a collection of Retro hardware. Sega Megadrive, Saturn, Dreamcast, Bandai Wonderswan, NeoGeo Pocket Color, alongside my trusty laptop & Steam. All the consoles have been modified to run of flash memory removing the requirements of physical media. I've played tabletop Warhammer 40,000 since 2008, Black Powder- American Civil War since it's release in 2022, I dabble in Star Trek Attack Wing, Dungeon & Dragons and CATastrophe. /tg/ was my digital home as a teenager.
Anime wise I adore Iyashikei & Slice of Life works. Lucky Star being the all time great, along with City! Do It yourself!, New Game! My Senpai is Annoying, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, Yuru Camp.
Cute girls doing cute thinks is peak media.
I grew up alongside Star Trek, although it's a franchise I've grown distant from. Both Babylon 5 & Battlestar Galactica (2004) come highly recomended. King of the Hill is peak western Slice of life and Umammusume has stolen hundreds of houts of my life since it's global Steam release. That about covers a general introduction.
Welcome to my hideaway, an old fashioned personal website. No more Social media.
